Boston, MA (ENN) -- The Castle Group, Inc., an independent public relations and events management agency serving the travel, education, technology, financial and healthcare industries, today announced the addition of six new accounts and three new employees.

"Despite a lagging economy, we continue to attract high-profile clients and talented employees. This is a testament to the high-quality work we consistently produce for our clients," said Sandy Lish, principal and founder.

In its events division, The Castle Group signed The Conference Center at Harvard Medical, a state-of-the-art meeting facility opening in the Longwood Medical Area January 2004; Sophos, one of the world's largest specialist developers of anti-virus software; and Vitale, Caturano & Company, a Boston-based full-service CPA and consulting firm.

The firm also signed Infinite Data Storage, Rhetorical Systems and Maine National Golf Club to its public relations division. Infinite Data Storage develops consumer electronics and personal data storage solutions and Rhetorical Systems is a world leader in text-to-speech (TTS) software (both are based in Scotland). The Maine National Golf Club is a new private country club and home development under construction in Wells, ME, with an expected opening in 2005.

The Castle Group named Beth Monaghan as account manager and Ken Langdon as account executive, bringing expertise from companies such as Charles River Ventures and Disney to its public relations division. Jaime Buratti joins the events division as an events manager with previous experience planning high-profile events, including the GRAMMY and Golden Globe awards ceremonies.

Account manager Beth Monaghan is responsible for the day-to-day strategic direction of her accounts. She also participates in business development activities for the agency.

Previously, Monaghan was marketing communications manager for data storage start-up StorScape, where she oversaw marketing, public relations and internal communications. Prior to StorScape, she was public relations manager for Charles River Ventures, one of the nation's leading early-stage venture capital firms where she handled public relations and consulted with portfolio companies regarding their communications strategies. Monaghan was also previously an account supervisor with Schwartz Communications, a public relations agency, where she won two industry awards for excellence. She graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University with a B.S. in public relations.

Account executive Ken Langdon is responsible for media and analyst relations, writing and client counsel.

Prior to joining The Castle Group, Langdon was a publicist in the media relations department at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Langdon also managed special events and served as a field producer for live television broadcast opportunities both on and off Disney property. A graduate of Michigan State University, Langdon received a B.A. in journalism.

Jaime Buratti joins The Castle Group as an events manager, responsible for events coordination from concept to completion, including logistical planning, on- and off-site coordination, collateral development and outside vendor coordination. Previously, she was the chief events coordinator and manager of operations for the University of California at Los Angeles, where she was responsible for the direction of university concerts, NCAA sporting events, conferences and movie premieres.

Buratti was also an account executive with Merv Griffin Productions, where she worked on events for "Gone in 60 Seconds," the Golden Globe and GRAMMY awards ceremonies, Mervyn's Fashion Show and a Louis Vuitton store opening.
